Overview

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and GCM Grosvenor are proud to offer emergency financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of the 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Selected scholars will receive a one-year scholarship of up to $500 for the 2019-2020 academic school year, which will be used to cover the costs of tuition and fees, on-campus room and board and required textbooks purchased from a TMCF member school. The funds are applied in the 2020 spring semester.

Program Dates:

Monday, December 9, 2019 – Sunday, January 19, 2020

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Enrolled full time for the 2019-2020 school year at one of TMCF’s 47 member-schools
  • Current grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • Demonstrate a financial need
  • Demonstrate leadership ability through a variety of measures
  • U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

  • A copy of the 2019-2020 FAFSA Confirmation form and a copy of your student Account Requirement Page-Indicating
    all required documents from your institution’s financial aid department has been submitted
  • Provide the transcript (official or unofficial) for your most recently completed academic term
  • Current school account balance
  • Essay questions: Tell us about your current financial situation. Why is it important that you receive this
    funding? Tell us about your intended career path. What do you hope to do after graduation? How have you prepared
    for that and what impact do you hope to have?
