Andrea Horton is the Chief Programs Officer holding full strategic and financial oversight of TMCF’s multi- million dollar programs portfolio with a keen focus on operational efficiency, program efficacy, and continuous improvement. Andrea is responsible for the overall direction of Scholarships, Teacher Quality and Retention (TQRP), Talent Acquisition, Leadership Institute, and other signature corporate partnership programs.

Andrea joined The Thurgood Marshall College Fund in 2013 after spending 12 years in corporate marketing and 5 years as a business owner. During the course of her corporate career, Andrea developed and led market strategies for major brands such as L’eggs, Hanes, Quaker Oats, Victoria’s Secret, and NASCAR. In 2007 Andrea branched out as an independent business consultant managing a range of strategic projects in Charlotte, Atlanta, and Singapore!

Ms. Horton spends much of her free time mentoring students and young professionals. Her passion for coaching others led her to develop curriculum to train students on professionalism and entrepreneurship. These curricula have been utilized by The YMCA of Winston Salem, Fulton County Schools, and Springmont Montessori School in Atlanta.

Andrea graduated with honors from Spelman College with a BA in Economics. She earned an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Andrea lives in Winston Salem, NC with her 13 year old son, Caleb.
